The Missed Call

A young software engineer moved to another city for his first job. Life became busy—deadlines, meetings, and long working hours. Every evening, his mother would call him. Sometimes he answered, sometimes he didn't. One day, while rushing to a meeting, he saw her name flash on his phone. He thought, *"I'll call her back later."* Later turned into the next day. The following morning, his father called. His voice was unusually quiet. "Your mother was admitted to the hospital last night. She kept asking if you had called back." The son immediately booked a ticket and rushed home. Thankfully, she recovered. But when he sat beside her hospital bed, she smiled and said, "I wasn't worried about my health. I just wanted to hear your voice." That moment stayed with him forever. Since then, no matter how busy life gets, he always answers his parents' calls—or calls them back the same day. Because one day, there may not be another missed call waiting.
